TECHNICAL ESTIMATORS

London & South District - based in Bracknell or Dartford c £35k - £40k basic plus car or car allowance.

Our client has opportunities for 3 design technical estimator within the London & South East district.  We are seeking people experienced in any combination of the following technical areas: fire, security,access controls and cctv OR BMS (Building Management System) . 

You will be responsible for:

·          Assist the Sales manager to deliver the a professional quotation package to job specifications

·          Understand the financial constraints involved in projects.   

• Be able to work with in tight timeframes
• Ensure systems are designed to all the relevant standards and inline with Honeywell’s Code of Practice
• Demonstrate and handover the design strategy
• Advise the Sales Manager of any compliance issues
• Communicate effectively to clients and co workers
• Provide design assistance and valued engineering alternatives when required

Additional Responsibilities:

• Order Processing.
• Handling customer delivery queries.
• Handling of quality/payments/specifications queries.
• Dealing with approvals and customer returns.
• Occasional translation of correspondence, drawings etc.
• Assisting in sales promotion activities such as exhibitions and customer visits.
• The role also requires close liaison with the customer primarily and also with production control, quality and shipping personnel.

And would be able to demonstrate:

• Relevant Technical Qualification (ONC or above) or relevant hands-on experience
• Experience of estimating large, complex, networked Fire, CCTV and Security or BMS systems
• To have an understanding of PC based ‘front-end’ systems
• Working knowledge of Intruder, Fire and Access or BMS Systems advantageous but not essential.
• An understanding of electronics and/or electrical installation
• PC literate especially in standard Microsoft packages
• Highly motivated with a flexible approach and a positive attitude
• Ability to work on own initiative
• Sound knowledge of BS5839 – 2002 (Fire and PAVA) is required,  knowledge of  BS4737 (Intruder) and BS7671 (CCTV) would be an advantage but not essential
• Full Driving Licence
• Sound Health & Safety awareness 
• Good communications skills are essential in dealing with customers and internal functions
• Must be able to cope with the pressures resulting from this responsibility
• Must be enthusiastic and care about delighting our customer
