Senior Planner – Retail – Hertfordshire
£41,000 + Bonus + Excellent benefits package
This Pan European retail organisation have created a Senior Planner opportunity to manage a healthy budget including weekly purchases of £5 million and working capital of £40 million. Reporting directly to the Inventory Director this highly prestigious role will involve the following principle accountabilities:
•Generating sales forecasts for both branded and own branded products.
•Monitor and report on variances to overall stock levels, supplier delivery performance and distribution capacity.
•Contribute to specification of system changes and process improvements.
•Chair and attend relevant meetings with Buying/Trading.
•Build close relationships with supplier counterparts to ensure a continuity of supply and to minimise failed deliveries through effective management.
•Delivering availability to target within the stock budget
•Ensuring that category stock plans meet/exceed budget targets in turns and reflect latest views of ranges, initiatives, events and commercial sales plans
•Ensuring end of line and clearance stock is tackled promptly and the need for a stock obsolescence provision is minimised
•Ensuring new starters are inducted in planning skills and tools, team members are developed in line with succession goals and poor performance is tackled promptly
•Supporting the CPM in reviewing performance of cell teams in forecasting, planning, managing product lifecycle, and managing supplier performance and driving performance improvements where required
•Escalating issues with processes and relationships within cells and with related teams where these impact the team's ability to plan well and without delay
•Recommend changes to commitment levels where appropriate ensuring benefit and risk is understood by all concerned
•Supporting the CPM and Inventory Management team in delivering initiatives by sharing ideas, providing resource, creating buy in within trading teams and supporting changes
To be considered for this opportunity you must be able to demonstrate experience in Inventory Planning and skilled at forecasting and merchandise/space planning. You will consider yourself analytical and numerate with a high commercial acumen.
