Sales Executive
Part Time Fixed contract until 31st March 2009

Salary circa £12,106 pro-rata, based on 21 hours per week
Established in 1996 as the agency to promote Manchester on a national and international stage, our client became The Tourist Board for Greater Manchester on 1st April 2004 and as such, has four clearly defined roles: to provide destination leadership, to attract visitors, to support the industry and to service visitors.
This is an exciting time in the company and due to their continuing demanding workload, they have created some new roles within the company, including the post of Association Sales Executive. The executive will join their Conference Research Unit which is responsible for researching and attracting conferences into Manchester and the Northwest.
With your experience of working within a sales and target driven role, you will develop, manage and work within the European sales strategy, to ultimately promote the region to associations. Working to agreed targets and deadlines within the delivery plan, you will carry out appointments in the North West, with the aim to generate future sales leads and bids. Excellent communications skills coupled with a professional attitude and appearance is essential as the appointments will be both face to face and over the telephone.
You will conduct accurate and timely research in order to support the generation of sales leads and maintain client records within a reliable and up to date database. You will work closely with a number of colleagues to prepare for exhibitions and events.
The successful candidate will possess excellent project management skills and the honed ability to work effectively as part of a team. With proven experience of implementing monitoring methods, gathering information and writing reports, you will need sound IT skills and have a keen attention to detail for data inputting tasks. Knowledge of the conference and business tourism industry and research experience would be an advantage for this role, but is not essential.
