Our client is a well-respected and successful college in the South East. One of the fastest improving colleges in the country, Ofsted now rates the College as ‘Good, with outstanding capacity to continue improving’. They now need a tenacious and pro-active Sales Executive / Business Development Executive with an entrepreneurial flair to join their team.
As a Sales Executive / Business Development Executive in a highly consultative role, you will sell training solutions to businesses, establishing client needs and providing training solutions based on their current portfolio. The college’s services include ‘off the shelf’ compliance and business courses, bespoke packages, and other college training provision offerings.
During the first year, you must be able to increase your monthly sales and sustain a consistent monthly target. You will be responsible for every aspect of account management. The role will initially be new business-focused and involve prospecting, cold calling, making appointments, visiting clients and closing business. As such, this is a role for a self-motivated business development professional: someone who is a natural hunter, willing and able to find and close sales.
As a Sales Executive / Business Development Executive you will plan and prioritise personal sales activities and customer/prospect contact towards achieving monthly sales target. You will also communicate, liaise and negotiate internally and externally using appropriate methods to facilitate the development of profitable business and sustainable relationships.
The Sales Executive / Business Development Executive will hence require selling experience, ideally having managed small to medium sized accounts dealing with senior executives. You will have a track record as a strong communicator and team player with excellent presentation skills.
You will be able to write business letters, quotations, proposals and use MS Office, particularly Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint. A working knowledge of ACT! would be beneficial, although not essential.
This position offers an opportunity to develop your sales skills, be at the heart of a successful team and gain real hands-on experience of modern further education skills delivery. The successful person will be able to make the role their own and develop into an Account Management position.
