Established in the 1960’s this stable and cash-rich niche manufacturer seeks a technically inquisitive Sales Manager to be groomed within two years into the role of Sales Director. Unquestionably this is one of the most varied, interesting and rewarding roles that we are currently working and is an amazing career opportunity. The role is based from the office in Essex and the company will ONLY ACCEPT APPLICATIONS FROM INDIVIDUALS CURRENTLY LIVING WITHIN A ONE HOUR RADIUS FROM BRENTWOOD, ESSEX.
 
To succeed you will have proven experience of winning £100K plus deals through complex bids and tender processes together with international sales experience. This is not a role for someone who wants an easy life as the role requires you to take 3-4 trips a month away, sometimes at a couple of days notice! In addition to this you will also be away for 3-4 major week-ten day trips at industry conferences, seminars, etc. (typically a trip per quarter to the US, Australasia, Asia and Africa)
 
As a people-manager you will be a hands on doer that can develop a strategic plan; someone that leads by example and always has an ‘eye for a new opening’. You will be Solution oriented, able to sell to non-technical people and have well-honed negotiation skills. Your own sales ability will be the key to your success.

You will be a consummate professional that can build a network of senior level contacts and is always looking for fresh opportunities and ways of developing new approaches and business.

You will be highly professional with excellent sales habits – hard working, proactive, self managing, self-motivated, “Can Do” attitude, etc! 
 
You will have experience of technical sales and/or be technically inquisitive – keen to know how and why things work! Previous industry experience is not required however you are expected to increase your own technical knowledge and have the desire to be an expert in your field within 24 months.
 
You will be highly motivated and goal oriented and looking for a 10-15 year career role with a growing and dynamic business. You will be personable, credible, highly commercially astute and a winner by nature. You will have a history of achievement and a CV that demonstrates logical and structured career progression. Languages, particularly French, German or Spanish would be a ‘nice to have’.
 
The role is managing two members of staff and reports directly into the current Sales Director that is taking over from the current MD upon his retirement next year.
