General Description:
Due to continued growth they now require a Sea Freight Business Development Manager to join their office in Felixstowe.
You will be expected to systematically and comprehensively identify, profile and gain potential new business within a given area or as directed.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- To consistently grow the profit generated and achieve targets as set out by the Manager
- To achieve sales productivity and appointment targets
- To generate new prospect leads and new accounts over the telephone and face-to-face.
- To ensure that a full profile is gained of each customer contacted and that the opportunities to convert the customer into a trading account are evaluated.
- To enter all customer profile information on to the Sales and Marketing system.
- To monitor consignments ensuring that the highest levels of service are carried out at every stage.
- To provide customers with accurate and cost effective quotations.
- To actively adhere to the company’s credit control procedures for every new customer.
- To prepare weekly/monthly reports of sales activity and potential new
- To provide a high level of internal and external customer care.
- To pass on ‘live’ accounts to the appropriate branches.
- To develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge and thorough understanding of all of the company’s services and relevant administration and operational processes.
- To take part in any developmental activities as required by the company.
- To carry out any other relevant duties as requested by the Sales Manager to ensure the effective performance of the Business Development Team.

Work experience requirements:
Must have Air /Sea/Land freight sales experience!
