£27,000 to £30,000 dependent on experience
Employing close to a thousand personnel this financially strong, global leader has been established for close to quarter of a century and has a strong reputation for nurturing their staff and promoting from within.
Working across a wide spectrum of industry sectors this is an interesting and technically challenging engineering role ideally suited for a graduate level engineer looking for a customer facing role.
As an Application Engineer you will work alongside the sales team providing input from a technical and engineering perspective. By evaluating and understanding a customer's exact requirements this highly varied and technical role is ideal for an inquisitive individual that is customer focused and highly solution oriented.
Additional responsibilities include demonstrating and presenting complex solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences, writing and presenting training courses and representing the company at exhibitions and technical seminars.
To apply you should be educated to degree level or equivalent (BSci or MS) in an engineering field (computing, engineering, physics, optics or equivalent) and have ideally (but not essentially) 2+ years of experience in Engineering or Applications Engineering. Familiarity with a Microsoft programming environment such as VB (VB.net or C#) would help.
Knowledge of basic optics/photography would be an advantage as would having a general interest in the machine vision/camera technology.
In addition you must have a full driving license.
As this is a customer facing role you must also be well presented with excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
